Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link: The Winning Bids

PCSG was delighted to hear the news that our client – Femern Link Contractors – has secured three major contracts on the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link project to build an 18km immersed tunnel connecting Denmark and northern Germany.

This ambitious, euros 5 billion scheme, is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe.

Due to its size and complexity, the work was broken down into several large contracts. Femern Link Contractors was named as the preferred bidder for both the tunnel sections – northern and southern – and for a separate contract covering the portals and ramps.

A PCSG team co-located in Copenhagen to help the consortium manage and write this major submission. They were assisted by a support team back in the UK who helped review, edit and polish the documents.

THE FEHMARNBELT TUNNEL WILL BE THREE TIMES AS LONG AS THE WORLD’S EXISTING LONGEST IMMERSED TUNNEL

The Fehmarnbelt tunnel will be three times as long as the world’s existing longest immersed tunnel – the Transbay Tube tunnel in San Francisco – and carry a four-lane motorway alongside a twin track-electrified railway.

The project marks the latest in a string of international projects for PCSG. We have supported bids across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia and New Zealand.
