Level 2 BIM strategy for a major NHS Foundation Trust
Information Management & BIM Levels 2, 3 & 4
PCSG delivered a Level 2 BIM strategy for a major NHS Foundation Trust with the objective of improving the way they deliver, operate and maintain hospital facilities.
As part of the drive to improve the capital delivery, operation and maintenance procedures on the Trust’s new multimillion pound healthcare facilities,
PCSG was commissioned to deliver a Level 2 BIM strategy and supply BIM implementation support on the first of their new major healthcare facilities.
PCSG brought expertise in defining and delivering BIM strategies to redefine the traditional plan of works with a digital alternative, based on PAS 1192 part 2 and part 3. This included new processes for defining information requirements, procurement processes to ensure the supply chain provides information at key milestones, and procedures for managing procured digital information.
The PCSG team extended their service to support design teams with their BIM model volume strategies, design coordination processes and tender processes to ensure the smooth running of the project.
As a result of PCSG’s initial work and continued support, the Trust has adapted their management approach to the capital delivery of their new hospital facilities, to the delight of their investors.
Alongside defining project requirements at the briefing stage, the Trust now consider the information requirements, clarifying the information required from the supply chain at each stage, with suppliers measured against determined performance criteria.
