Designing and Delivering Client side Behavioural Assessments

Social Sustainability

The Client requirement for AMP6 was to select a Capital Delivery Partner and an Engineering Service Partner that could work with United Utilities to drive collaborative change.

PCSG’s key partner, Consulting People Limited (CPL) was invited to be the strategic partner to facilitate this change.

The requirement was to design and deliver a series of behavioural assessment workshops to test the bidding teams’ ability to collaborate and drive change with regulatory environmental and technical changes, for example BIM, which will affect the market place and the abilities of all parties.

The method used on this project was based on CPLs Organisational Maturity Hierarchy© and testing of bid teams ability to move between maturity levels.
To do this, CPL collaborated with United Utilities personnel and the use of an assessment tool that removes subjective bias.

Underpinning delivery of the design was the intention to create a learning system through which individuals and groups could bring the best of themselves and maximise their contribution to successful outcomes. In addition it was proposed and agreed that executive interviews would be held.
Assessment followed the same lines but with more focus on the issues over the coming AMP periods.

All bid teams acknowledged in positive and humorous ways the opportunities to develop individually and as a team throughout the process. One executive stated “This behavioural assessment is the best management development programme I have ever been on.”
