Highway Improvements

Bid Management

We have supported numerous successful bids for highway improvement projects and frameworks. Our team includes Mike Llywelyn-Jones, our Highways Specialist, who chairs the ACE Roads Sector Interest Group, ensuring we remain close to industry leaders and new developments.

Our specialists have added value by assimilating the technical solution and project delivery process and by providing support in a range of ways including: managing the bid, facilitating workshops to identify win themes, storyboarding and writing scheme-specific responses including evidence of successful delivery, participating in pink and red stage-gate reviews, and improving / finalising the quality submission, as well as in coaching teams for post-submission interviews and reality checks.

We have covered projects of every size and nature, from small Local Authority schemes to major motorway widening projects, and are familiar with a broad range of contract types and procurement routes, including Engineer Design, Design & Build, DBFO and ECI, as well as with NEC Target Cost contracts. We have recently supported bids for projects such as: Eastern Bay Link, Cardiff, M4 Corridor around Newport, A138 Chelmer Viaduct, A63 Castle Street Improvement, A160/A180 Port of Immingham Improvement, M8 M73 M74 DBFO, and Taunton Northern Inner Distributor Road.

We have also supported contractors and consultants on bids for a wide range of highway improvement frameworks, including: Highways Agency CDF Lots 1, 2 and 3a, Midlands Highway Alliance, Hertfordshire Highways Structural Maintenance and Surface Treatments Framework, Eastern Highway Alliance, Highways Agency Managed Motorways Contractor Framework and Highways Agency Project Support Framework.

In addition, we have supported many contractors and consultants on their Highways Agency StART 2 assessments.
