Highways Agency CDF Behavioural Assessment
Social sustainability
PCSG’s expertise in preparing bid teams for behavioural assessment facilitated our industry leading client in their successful bid to be part of the Highways Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework (CDF).
Following PCSG’s successful preparation for the behavioural assessment on the Connect Plus tender, our behavioural experts were asked to prepare a bid team for the £5bn Highways Agency CDF behavioural assessment.
The Highways Agency (HA) gave very brief instructions that bidders would face “a series of tasks and challenges … over a two day period”, which would include competitors and HA representatives.
Building on our knowledge of previous behavioural assessments, we devised a series of business scenarios and non-technical team activities, with peer reviews and trainer feedback between the tasks to instil a learning culture within the team.
Challenges increased in complexity, building confidence and cohesion in the team gradually, as well as awareness of collaborative behaviour. Large exercises including external personnel were also introduced to practice collaborative behaviours in unfamiliar teams.
As a result of PCSG’s methods of practice, review, feedback and one to one coaching, the bid team went into the assessment with confidence in their collaborative behaviours. Their performance resulted in being awarded a place on the framework.
