We are thrilled to welcome to our team Tony Malone, the former Highways England CIO and figurehead for digital transformation within the infrastructure sector.

Tony’s appointment further deepens our expertise as we lead the way in supporting the built environment sector to exploit high-quality data and digital twins.

During five years as CIO at HE, Tony spearheaded work to utilise the vast amounts of available real-time data and emerging digital technologies to facilitate the efficient design, build and maintenance of HE’s assets, to improve capacity and to unlock economic growth.

Tony said: “I’m excited to be joining PCSG as their business continues to grow and develop and to share my knowledge and experience in major infrastructure programmes ensuring that our clients receive the best advice to deliver, operate and optimise their digital assets.”

We have also welcomed several digital experts from Heathrow Airport: James Charlton, David Sansum and Tom Garside, will use their extensive knowledge and experience gained leading the digital transformation within operations and capital delivery at the UK’s largest airport, to help our clients to adopt a data-driven approach to building and managing their assets. Together, they bring a deep understanding of all aspects of transformation – process, people and commercial.

The strengthening of our team comes at an exciting period for PCSG, following our acquisition, in October 2020, by the Cohesive Companies. Cohesive is the consultancy services arm of Bentley Systems Inc, the Nasdaq-listed leading global provider of software solutions to accelerate project delivery and improve asset performance.

Under its new ownership, PCSG is accelerating its mission to embed digital techniques and the use of structured, high-quality data within the lifecycle of the built environment to improve how we design, build and manage our critical infrastructure. A key focus of our work is to accelerate digital twin understanding and adoption within the built environment both in the UK and internationally.

Industries including manufacturing and aerospace have long benefited from digital twins. Now they are presenting owner operators and asset-heavy organisations with an opportunity to manage asset reliability risks, minimise unplanned downtime and optimise productivity and performance.

Using our co-developed platform, GeoConnect+, we are supporting major programmes of infrastructure – including HS2. The ambitious rail programme has established a virtual replica to support validation and verification and to ensure the railway works as a fully integrated and operational network.

We have also welcomed a new team member into our Content, Communications and Work-winning team. Elizabeth Buwu, a bid writer and communications specialist, will support the major contractors and joint ventures we work with to secure work and to showcase their solutions.

Commenting on the appointments, Mark Bew, our chairman, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Tony, James, David, Tom and Elizabeth are joining our team. We are growing rapidly yet carefully to meet strong demand for our services with a high calibre team who really understand our clients’ organisations and deliver great results every time by delivering high value outcomes.”
