Rennie Chadwick joins PCSG’s digital team
Rennie Chadwick, a figurehead in the construction technology field, has joined PCSG’s digital team, further bolstering our capability following our appointment to several large-scale infrastructure programmes.
Rennie, our Major Projects Director, brings significant experience of the application of digital practices and techniques to unlock value and increase efficiency in the built environment. He spent seven years at Osborne, two as Chief Operating Officer and three years as the Technology Division MD at VINCI.
His appointment follows PCSG’s selection to support some of the country’s biggest infrastructure projects to implement a data-driven, digital approach to their design, build and operation.
Last year, PCSG was selected by HS2 Ltd to help the mega-railway to integrate the vast volume of asset and project data it is managing and procuring and to make it readily available to those who need it. Our GeoConnect+ cloud-based technology platform is being deployed on the project with a team led by our Technology Director, Adrian Burgess.
The construction industry has been famously slow to innovate and to adopt digital practices. As a modern approach to designing, building and maintaining our assets and critical infrastructure has taken hold, demand has surged for skillsets and abilities far beyond the ‘traditional’ construction roles. These include data scientists, GIS experts and other ‘tech-savvy’ professionals.
In addition to Rennie, PCSG has recently appointed to its digital team, Chris Balmbra, an information manager and GIS consultant, Dan Ferris, who was formerly Development Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine and Geographic Information Masters graduate, Matt Margiotta.
Commenting on the new appointments, our Business Development Director, Olly Thomas, said: “Our team goes from strength-to-strength. With these new capabilities and talent on board we are even better positioned to help our clients fully realise their ambitions and exploit to the full the benefits of a digital data-driven approach in our built environment.”
